Cisco Systems will invest over $100 Mn in India to support the country’s ambitious plan to connect thousands of its villages to the internet and create jobs, Executive Chairman John Chambers said on Friday. PM Modi has launched a series of initiatives under the ‘Digital India,’ ‘Skill India,’ and ‘Startup India’ schemes to connect millions of Indians to the Internet, create more tech jobs and move more services online. Cisco will invest $40 Mn of the total planned investment into funding early and mid-stage startups.
Amplifi and XIME have partnered to set up India’s 1st & only Amplifi-XIME B2B SaaS Accelerator at XIME’s Bangalore campus. They partnered with an intention to create a startup ecosystem for B2B SaaS (Business-to-Business Software-as-a-Service) ideas. The B2B SaaS Accelerator will offer infrastructure, mentoring, shared resources and access to corporates, angel investors and VCs plus credits from partners & service providers for the entrepreneurs selected through this program. This can be called as a step towards #DigitalIndia & #StartupIndia.
