This is to integrate its payment gateway. Paytm already has two deals with IRCTC to book tickets and pay for meals through its wallet. With this integration, Paytm will be able to process payments through wallet, debit and credit cards, and netbanking.
This is to allow customers to make payments using the bank’s mobile wallet SBI Buddy. SBI is also extending its wallet services to more than 2,500 educational institutions, government entities, ministries and departments, and other govt-owned public services.
The app will be called IRCTC Air on the Google Play Store. Users can book tickets with their existing IRCTC credentials although the app also allows people to book tickets via guest login. The company does not charge any fee, just like other online travel agents, but it charges Rs 10 per flight PNR when booked through net banking.
No waivers announced for service charges levied on net banking and card payments done through IRCTC’s online ticket portal. Union cabinet in February had decided to remove surcharge and service tax on online payments charged by government organizations and other ministries.
Air India has partnered with IRCTC, which will sell the tickets. This move aims to give a boost to Air India’s sales. If they do not get a confirmed ticket, the passengers will be given an option to book Air India tickets within the next 24 hours. The AC first class passengers will be charged with the same fare while AC II passengers will be charged AC II fares plus Rs 1,500.

Rail ticketing service- IRCTC, and India’s branded network of hotels- Oyo, have partnered to provide passengers an added facility of booking OYO hotels on the IRCTC website. IRCTC OYO hotels will feature amenities just like any other oyo rooms and rooms will be available starting from Rs 999.
Tata Teleservices subsidiary MMP Mobi Wallet Payment Systems, which offers a money transfer and payment service ‘mRupee’, has partnered with the IRCTC to enable users to use its wallet to book tickets. IRCTC will continue offering other modes of payment along with the mRupee wallet. Note that the agency had entered into a similar agreement with Paytm in May last year. As of now, IRCTC claims to receive 4.5 to 5 lakh bookings per day on an average.
Online meals delivery service for trains TravelKhana has tied up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, where passengers can order food from the portal even while travelling on trains. TravelKhana will have a revenue sharing agreement with IRCTC, and offer its services at the New Delhi & Hazrat Nizammudin railway stations. It has also expressed interest in starting its services on a total of 17 stations in the first phase. TravelKhana’s lists stations where it delivers.
