Air India has partnered with IRCTC, which will sell the tickets. This move aims to give a boost to Air India’s sales. If they do not get a confirmed ticket, the passengers will be given an option to book Air India tickets within the next 24 hours. The AC first class passengers will be charged with the same fare while AC II passengers will be charged AC II fares plus Rs 1,500.

ZoopIndia is slated to enhance passengers’ convenience by delivering food right at their seats. ZoopIndia enables passengers to select from Veg or Non-Veg Thalis, South Indian, Chinese Cuisines and a delightful collection of snacks and fast food options. It has crossed the level of serving 10,000 meals per month across different rail routes, being present at 100 PAN India stations.

Tata Teleservices subsidiary MMP Mobi Wallet Payment Systems, which offers a money transfer and payment service ‘mRupee’, has partnered with the IRCTC to enable users to use its wallet to book tickets. IRCTC will continue offering other modes of payment along with the mRupee wallet. Note that the agency had entered into a similar agreement with Paytm in May last year. As of now, IRCTC claims to receive 4.5 to 5 lakh bookings per day on an average.

Online meals delivery service for trains TravelKhana has tied up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation, where passengers can order food from the portal even while travelling on trains. TravelKhana will have a revenue sharing agreement with IRCTC, and offer its services at the New Delhi & Hazrat Nizammudin railway stations. It has also expressed interest in starting its services on a total of 17 stations in the first phase. TravelKhana’s lists stations where it delivers.
